Brief description:
On this trip you will trek along Muong Hoa River sneaking through the valley nearby Sapa Town, which is surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces. On the way you will learn more about how is the rice cultivating, from when the seed sowed to harvested, until being served as cooked rice on your dinner table. Moreover, it will be great chance to study how the tribe people make handicraft from natural materials such as hemp and indigo..ect.

Detail itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai
08:00 Pick up at the lobby of the hotel in Hanoi transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for the night train to Lao Cai

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai ( 6km trekking, 3-3,5 hour trekking)

Arrive in Lao Cai around 5:30 a.m. We will take 1 hour van ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival Sapa town, we have buffet breakfast at the hotel before have having a short walk of 6km to visit Cat Cat village which is the home to Black Hmong. Coming into some local houses to study how the local people make their clothes and other handicraft from Hemp and Indigo as well as their culture, custom and habit. Continuing to walk to the Fairy waterfall where you can take photos and relax before following mountain trail to see Golden Stream where you can swim in the summer time. After that we walk uphill 2.5km to return to Sapa. You will be free in the evening to discover Sapa town in your own. You sleep at Sapa Hotel.

Day 3: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Sapa – Lao Cai (10-12km trekking, 4-5 hours trekking)
After having breakfast, we have a short walk of 5km along mountain trail to visit Y Linh Ho village which is inhabited by black Hmong tribe and completely secluded from tourists, especially you are able to embrace raw Sapa culture and community by coming into some native houses to discover their own culture and custom as well as study how the local tribe make handicraft from natural materials such as: hemp, indigo…ect. Continuing to walk down Muong Hoa River where you can take a rest or swim before trekking uphill to Lao Chai village where your picnic lunch will be served. After lunch, you will visit the Day and Red Dzao tribes of Tavan village, which lies in the middle of Muong Hoa valley where excellent panoramas of rice terraced fields. Climbing to the main road, you are transferred to Sapa by car. Having shower and dinner before being transferred to Lao Cai for catching the night train to Hanoi.
