Brief description:
On this trip you will trek to some authentic villages sneaking through the valley and mountain far away from Sapa Town, which is surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces. On the way you will learn more about how is the rice cultivating, from when the seed sowed to harvested, until being served as cooked rice on your dinner table. Moreover, it will be great chance to study how the tribe people make handicraft from natural materials such as hemp and indigo..ect.

Detail itinerary

Day1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai
08:00 Pick up at the lobby of the hotel in Hanoi transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for the night train to Lao Cai

Day 2: Lao Cai – Mong Sen – Ta Seng – Ta phin (13 km trekking, 4-5 hours trekking)

Arrival at Lao Cai around 5:30 in the early morning, you are welcomed by your local guide and driver, have breakfast at the local restaurant then travel by car uphill to Mong Sen village where you start to trek uphill through a mountainous area by following a dirt trail. En route, you will have many opportunities to enjoy spectacular view over rice terraces and corn fields. Your trek continue by going downhill to Ta Seng and Ta Phin villages where you can meet Red Dzao and Black Hmong tribes, two largest tribal groups in Sapa. Here you stop to take a rest and have your lunch at the local home stay. The following is that you are transferred back to Sapa by car. Tonight you stay overnight at the hotel in Sapa.

Day 3: Sapa – Sao Chua – Hau Thao – Sapa – Lao Cai (10km trekking, 4-5 hour trekking)

You have buffet breakfast at the hotel before traveling by car up to Sao Chua village, home of Black Hmong tribe where you start trek about 20km along the remote and quite route through beautiful mountainous area. Along the way, you will have many opportunities to enjoy the spectacular view over rice terraced and corn fields as well as experience the real things of Sapa because this area is non tourist along the way. You will take a break to have lunch at nice place along the way before trekking towards Hau Thao village where you can see people make clothes by hand and dye clothes by using indigo plant. We return by car to Sapa in the afternoon for your shower and dinner before being transferred to Lao Cai for your night train to Hanoi.
