Binh Lu and Tam Duong is located on the other side of Sapa, passing the 1900 meter of Tram Ton Pass, Vietnam,s highest mountain pass and considered the most beautiful stretch of road in the country. Biking through some remote villages of Lu and Laos tribes and staying overnight with the local people will be great experience.

Detail itinerary

Day1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai
08:00 Pick up at the lobby of the hotel in Hanoi transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for the night train to Lao Cai

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa – Tram Ton Pass – Biking to Ban Hon Village (home stay), 34 km riding, 4 hour riding

Arrive in Lao Cai around 5:30 a.m. We will take 1 hour van ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival Sapa town, we have buffet breakfast at the hotel and then we first travel by car uphill toward Tram Ton Pass. On the way, you can take a short walk to Love Waterfall which locates in the Hoang Lien National Park and then head to Heaven Gate, where you will be amazed by breathtaking view to mountain surrounding included Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina. Your ride will be mostly downhill toward Binh Lu. You will stop by Chu Va Village of Flower Hmong for a break before you arrive in Binh Lu. Here you will have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, you turn in a dirt road to the villages. You will have time to stop by Pa Pen village of Lu Minority and then Na Hum of Thai, two group ethnic minorities, which can not be found in Sapa area. You are in a beautiful valley of rice paddy terraces and lime stone mountains surrounded. You will arrive in Ban Hon village where you spend your night at the Lu family.

Day 3: Ban Hon Village – Tam Duong – Binh Lu – Sapa (4 hour riding, 1 hour walking)

After having breakfast, we cycle toward Tam Duong Town. You pass by several villages stretching along the way. The ride is relatively flat. You will be able to visit the market in Tam Duong, where you meet Flower Hmong, Black Dzao and Lu minorities. You stop by a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we continue to ride to Binh Lu Town. Here we can ride to some small villages and meet different tribes. Finally, we meet our driver for being transferred back to Sapa for your showering and dinner before being driven to Lao Cai for you night train to Hanoi.
